NEKRYC gathers high school youth leaders from rural parishes of ArchKCK for formation, leadership training, event planning, and community building so that they themselves might become disciples for and lead others closer to Christ and our Catholic faith.
NEKRYC exists to form young disciples who joyfully lead others to encounter Christ.

The North East Kansas Rural Youth Council (NEKRYC) is a leadership and discipleship community for rural parish high school students who desire to grow in faith while serving others. Through prayer, formation, service, and authentic friendships, members are equipped to become joyful Catholic leaders in their parishes, schools, and communities.
Throughout the year, NEKRYC members help plan and serve at Rural Outreach ministries, including the Rural Catholic Youth Conference, parish events, middle school rallies, Family Days, and other opportunities that inspire young people to encounter Christ. Members also gather regularly for formation, fellowship, and prayer as they grow together in discipleship and leadership.

As a part of the NEKRYC team you will have opportunities to, deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ, grow as a Catholic leader through formation and service, build lasting friendships with other young disciples, and help plan and lead youth ministry events across Northeast Kansas.
Applications for NEKRYC open April 10 and are due May 10, 2026! Incoming Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are eligible for NEKRYC. Preference is given to juniors and seniors so we can keep NEKRYC at an appropriate size for fostering discipleship.
